Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Confidents des Cœurs – Loïc Dubigeon (2000)

VENDU

Designed by Loïc Dubigeon in 2000 and never reissued. Very good condition. Rare and sought after by collectors.

At the very beginning of the 20th century, in Germany, after spending years drawing the bears in a zoo, Richard Steiff set about making plush replicas of them for his aunt's toy factory. At the same time, on the other side of the Atlantic, during a hunt, President Theodore Roosevelt, nicknamed “Teddy” (a nickname he hated), refused to shoot a black bear that the organisers of the hunt had tied to a tree. The anecdote became the subject of a cartoon in the famous Washington Post. Morris Michtom, a Brooklyn confectioner, saw the drawing in the press and made a soft little bear, which he placed in his shop window with the sign “Teddy's Bear”. The toys were an immediate success and Michtom founded his company. The teddy bear became the most faithful companion of childhood: at once the guardian of sleep and the confidant of little sorrows and great joys... “Le confident des cœurs” (the confidant of hearts). This scarf allows enthusiasts and elegant women, as well as arctophiles, that is, collectors of teddy bears and everything connected with them, to immerse themselves once more in the softness and warmth of the furry companions of our childhood.
