Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Brides de Gala – Hugo Grygkar (1967)
VENDU
If there were only one to keep, it would be this one. Created in 1957 by the legendary Hugo Grygkar, the "Brides de Gala" scarf (Gala Bridles) is the most emblematic design of the House of Hermès. On its own, it embodies timeless equestrian elegance.
Two ceremonial bridles, richly adorned with coats of arms of the Empire, face each other in perfect symmetry. The precision of Grygkar's line is astounding. Judging by the vintage care label on this piece, it is an early edition, probably dating from the 1960s (perhaps the first reissue, from 1967).

A word from Diane
Owning a 1960s "Brides de Gala" is something quite different from buying a new one in a boutique today. The silk has a different feel; it is very fluid and soft. It is the scarf that goes with absolutely everything: a white shirt, a navy blazer, a trench coat... or just a white T-shirt. It lifts any outfit by its mere presence.
All our scarves have been carefully inspected by our team and are guaranteed authentic indefinitely.
